With the 2013 vintage, Domaine Clos de la Chapelle will join a rarified club; we now own vines in several Grand Cru vineyards, the rarest and finest parcels of land in all of Burgundy! If you come to visit Burgundy, as you drive from the Northern Cote de Nuits towards to Cote de Beaune, you will see the sweeping hill of Corton. Here, you find all the red Grand Crus of the Cote de Beaune, as well as Corton-Charlemagne, one of the rare White Burgundy Grand Crus.
We now farm 0.30 hectares in the climat known as Rognets. Rognets is one of the most highly-regarded lieux-dits of Corton. The Corton Grand Cru spans three different villages, Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix-Serrigny and Pernand-Vergelesses. Rognets is considered the top lieux-dit of Ladoix, and tends to make a more tender, elegant Corton that is a little more approachable in its youth than the wines of Aloxe.
